What Is a Flash Tattoo, and the Goldfish Bowl That Just Found Its Person

This week another of our flash designs got adopted: a tiny glass bowl with one orange goldfish, a strand of seaweed and a few bubbles. A whole little world, sized perfectly for a forearm. 🐠
So let us take the chance to answer one of the questions we hear most: what exactly is a flash tattoo, and why is ours a little different from everywhere else?
What a flash tattoo is
A flash tattoo is a design the artist draws in advance, complete and ready to be tattooed. The tradition is as old as tattoo shops themselves; it used to live as sheets of designs papering the walls. The appeal is honest and simple: you see the finished artwork before deciding, the price is clear, and there is no design phase to wait through. Walk in, choose, get tattooed.

This bowl went onto an arm where an older tattoo was already waiting, and we love that picture. Tattoos accumulate into a private gallery over the years, and small flash pieces slot in beside the older residents perfectly.
Our one rule: each design gets exactly one owner
At most studios one flash design can be repeated on any number of people. Naive Flora has a single rule that changes everything: each design is tattooed exactly once in the world. The moment someone claims it, it is retired from the catalogue permanently and will never be repeated on anyone. We believe a tattoo should not be a uniform; whoever takes the design home becomes its only guardian on earth. There is more about our style in what is a naive style tattoo.
Every flash design is born at this red table

Every flash design in the shop is born at this red table. The artist draws them in batches by theme, flowers, cats, the sea, snacks, and each one is drawn to completion as a finished picture, not a template to be adjusted. So when you choose a flash piece, you are choosing a genuinely finished artwork.
The whole system feels more like adoption than shopping. The design you love might be loved by someone else too, and it will belong to whoever arrives first. Plenty of people check the catalogue regularly, the way you would stop by to see which little one is still looking for a home.
How to claim a flash design
Claiming one is easy. Open the flash catalogue to see every design still available with its name and category. When one speaks to you, DM the name to @naive.flora.tattoo and book a day. From ฿1,500, first come first served, per the shop's one rule.
This goldfish bowl has found its person
As for this goldfish bowl: it has now been officially retired from the catalogue and swims on one arm only, anywhere in the world. Thank you for adopting the little one. It is the lowest-maintenance fish bowl ever made: no feeding, no water changes. 🐠
The studio is on Phahonyothin 32/1 in Sena Nikhom, Chatuchak, open daily 10:00 to 20:00. If you would like a little world of your own, the catalogue still has plenty of residents waiting for a home.
